The technical capabilities of the media are an essential part of the modern educational practices. It is obvious. However, it is important to note that “media” is not only a technical mediator in training, “media” creates a special reality, the educational capabilities of which we are still trying to discern and critically evaluate. Meanwhile, the technical potential of modern “media” is so great and diverse that, as it were, the first part of the complex token “media education” appears to be in the center of research attention. In our thematic selection, this shift in research interest was very definitely indicated by E. Sokolov [Sokolov 2020]), who does not see anything new in media education at all. In his opinion, all discussions about it are quite ordinary, always present in the discussion of education as such. We believe that this is not so simple. The cultural consequences of introducing media specifically into education often simply elude the field of philosophical (and pedagogical) assessments. Beyond the boundaries of modern humanitarian research is the very essence of the changes taking place under the influence of “media” in the phenomenon of education. In the article, the authors attempt to assess the educational potential of the “media” in terms of its capabilities to strictly define the sphere of personal communication between the student and teacher.
