Abstract

Reflections on the book Chumakov, Alexander N., DeBlasio, Alyssa, Ilyin, Ilya V., eds. (2022) Philosophical Aspects of Globalization: A Multidisciplinary Inquiry, Brill Rodopi, Leiden; Boston. 447 p.

The creators of collective work focus on philosophical, ecological, historical, geopolitical, socio-cultural and humanitarian dimensions of globalization, as well as on projects of the coming world order and problems of Russia’s civilizational choice. The main emphasis is placed on the philosophical aspects of the phenomenon of globalization. In the theoretical and methodological terms, the authors are connected by a common intuition of searching for algorithms and development strategies, overcoming the inertia of history, reaching the level of freedom and responsibility. Each of the authors makes a feasible contribution to the production of a new cultural-civilizational and technological-economic matrix of modernity, which, unlike the previous stages, should become more human-oriented, stable, and able to avoid the injustices or assimilation of previous “current modernity” periods.
