Myth in the Space of Artistic Symbolism

Abstract

The article outlines the main principles that could found a contemporary philosophy of art. The author, on the basis of the philosophical-aesthetic heritage of A.F. Losev and Russian Symbolists of the beginning of the 20th century, hypothesizes that such principles form myth, understood as a quantum of sacred knowledge in its metaphysical mode; symbol as a specifi c formalization and objectivization of myth; and artisticity, conceptualized as an expression of symbol by means of art.
