Ontologies

Abstract

The author analyzes the procedures of “ontological work”. The features of the main types of ontologies, namely mythological, aesthetic, religious, and philosophical are considered. There are raised the question of the status of universals and the prevailing interpretation of limiting concepts of being, reality, matter. There are suggested a new typology of philosophical ontology. There are revealed their fundamental inherent problems.
