Abstract

The paper presents the unknown creative work of the positivist philosopher I.A.Borichevsky
dedicated to the Epicurean epistemology – his thesis ”The Epicurean logic. Epicurus’ and Philodemus’ Herculaneum papyri” (1938–1941). In it Borichevsky expounded not only Epicurean
doctrine, but his own views on the role of philosophy and science on the basis of his translations
of original ancient Greek papyri.
