Representation, Spirit and Forming of Thoughts: Frege, Hegel, Leontiev and Ilyenkov

Abstract

The paper targets the issue of production of representations and thoughts as objectively valid
and intersubjectivity shared types of thinking performed by cooperated, socialized human beings.
This topic will be addressed, fi rst, by analyzing the views of Frege, Hegel, Marx, Leontyev and
Ilyenkov. Then, by drawing on Habermas’ formal pragmatics an attempt is made to unify these
views and at the same time to overcome their respective defi cits.
