The history of the concept of infinity from antiquity to Nicholas of Cusa

Abstract

The paper attempts to provide the history of the concept of infinity from the ancient Greek philosophers and scientists to Nicholas of Cusa and observe how the transformation of theological and philosophical understanding of infinity could pave the way for the birth of the new science in the XVI–XVII centuries.
