Russian Province in Philosophical Discourse: Conceptualization of Metaphor

The article suggests that the philosophical discourse of the Russian province, carried out by philosophers, writers, artists is relevant national consciousness for a long time. Russian province has acquired the quality of a metaphor, because that is not homogeneous. Metaphors components are chronotope, space, period, oikoumene, milestones, personality, intellectual, text, symbol, daily, capital, boredom. Metaphoric comprehension of the Russian province was largely inherent in the judgments of Russian philosophers – Vl. Soloviev, N. Berdyaev, V. Rozanov, S. Frank. Russian province includes a number of paradoxes – philosophy and aesthetics. The identity of a Russian provincial embodies conflicting spiritual foundations of life in Russia. Province in Russia can be understood as the condition of the human soul.
