On the Road to Theoretical History

Abstract

Theoretical history does not exist yet. It is possible to talk exclusively about the formation of certain metaphysical parts of the paradigm of scientifi c history (scientifi c worldview), the origins of which date back to the XVIII – XIX centuries. Prior to this the only option of the existence of historiography was the commemorative practices with their products – historical memory in the form of narrative. However the construction of proper scientifi c discourse always requires transi-tion from the practical tasks to the cognitive and research ones. The question is in that, what are the vectors of constructing historical theories which determine the arrangement and solution of the tasks relevant to the requirements of scientifi c rationality in the historiography
