Utopia as “Philosophical Project”

Abstract

Two main areas of utopian quests divided in this article, share stories of utopia on the “line of Plato” and the “line of More”. The first one continued to develop mainly in philosophy, the second one – in the literature. The subject of the article is utopia as metaphysics, or the “philosophical project”, the contribution of Plato’s utopian thought in the foundation and development of this trend in the Kant’s and Fichte’s philosophy. Despite belonging to different intellectual traditions, these thinkers are close in terms of “state of mind” and the role of philosophy in the ideal state.
