Towards a New Defi nition of Constitutionalism: an Axiological Aspect

Despite the fact that in modern legal science there are many defi nitions of constitutionalism, the author shows that they all suffer from one-sidedness and incompleteness. In order to avoid these drawbacks, the author proposes an original axiological interpretation of this concept, which allows to determine constitutionalism as a form of justice and to highlight the values which express its identity as well. The author believes that it is the only possible way to constructa basis for consistent constitutional system of government and law enforcement in the modern conditions.
