Abstract

The article is devoted to the feature of the Japanese culture: search of compromise in
complicated situations. Native culture considered as the “Sacred Whole” of different, often
contradictory parts – is the base of such worldview. The immortal, symbolic, “formless” pivot of
culture, represented in mortal forms, is carefully preserved. Thus the Japanese culture shows an
utter contrast to the Russian one, based upon the “truth of Reason”, that is inevitably one-sided.
The first philosophic opuses of V.I. Ulyanov-Lenin (1870–1924) and Nishida Kitaro (1870–
1945) represent the two attitudes to culture and life.
