Abstract

The article attempts to outline and analyze some of the most signifi cant, in the author`s
opinion, components of pantheism, opposing to the phenomenon of monotheism in the role of the
anthropomorphic God transcendent to the world. After analyzing the pantheistic ideas in spirit of
ancient and medieval thinkers, as well as representatives of social thought of modern times, such
as B. Spinoza, Giordano Bruno, I. Kant , G.W.F. Hegel and others, the author understands God
not as some transcendent supernatural beginning, but as the beginning, intrinsic to the universe,
underlies it. To substantiate such a thesis for the premise of analysis is taken Schopenhauer
formula of “the world as will and representation.”
