Abstract

Hannah Arendt was born in Hanover, but really her home town was Koenigsberg, the capital
of East Prussia, where she grew up from the age of three. Her parents and grandparents all lived
in Koenigsberg. The author explains that Hannah Arendt’s spiritual development was determined
to a great extent by the intellectual environment and the history of the city of Kant.
