M.Yu. Reutin refl ects on the recent book of N.A. Ganina containing a new Russian translation
of “The Flowing Light of the Godhead” and some theoretical articles devoted to this mystical
treatise of Mechthild of Magdeburg. M. Reutin demonstrates how the Orthodox preconception of
the author of the book logically leads to the false estimation of the creative work of the medieval
visionary.
