Abstract

The essay “On genius” was written by George Fedotov supposedly in 1910, when he was fi nishing his studies at the University of St. Petersburg. In the essay Fedotov reflects on fundamental principles of genius and tries to define the concept of genius, based on the relationship of ethics, aesthetics and logic. It was after his emigration from Soviet Russia in 1925 that he undertakes detailed analysis of correlation of ethics, aesthetics and logic within the Christian worldview framework.
