Abstract

The paper is devoted to some main features of two approaches, which coexist within the framework of analytical epistemology – its naturalistic and formal versions. Trying to show their distinctions, we explore their interpretations of such special case of intentional states as searching for a unicorn. The conclusion is that these approaches are complementary and irreducible to each other because of the great differences in their sets of assumptions.
