Abstract

The main problems of the taxonomic phonetics, graphics and (morpho)phonology in Ancient India are briely analyzed in this paper in the light of the hypothesis on interconnections existing between the ideas of atomism and the language phono-graphical structure. Namely, the relations between phonetics proper, alphabet and Panini’s functional theory are to be explored.
