Культурно-философские аспекты романа Ф. Колонны “Гипнеротомахия Полифила”

Abstract

The paper is concerned with an infl uence which different cultural and philosophical
traditions bear on the novel “Hypnerotomachia Poliphili” (1499). A supposed author of the novel
Francesco Colonna who is deemed to be one of the Humanistic movement fi gures at the turn of
the XV–XVI centures displays a great erudition in respect of intellectual culture of Antiquity and
Middle Ages. Using a form of the humanistic synthesis the novel unites intellectual ideas and art
symbols of different eras. The special attention should be devoted to traces of neoplatonic and
hermetic traditions and philosophy of Marsilio Ficino and Giovanni Pico della Mirandola.
