The Philosophical Credo of Nikolai N. Strakhov in a Correspondence with Pavel D. Golokhvastov
Abstract
This paper clarifi es the archival aspects in philosophical credo of Nikolai N. Strakhov. They
are particularly represented in his correspondence with Pavel D. Golokhvastov, one of the least
known of his correspondents. Strakhov interprets several key points of religious changes that have
occurred with Leo N. Tolstoy and presents his own understanding of the religious problem, which
is contextually combined with his critical understanding of “red” nihilism or philosophical spiritualism (Alexander M. Butlerov) and “mind games”, imposed by Vladimir S. Solovyov. Some of the
answering letters written be N. Strakhov are semantically multilayered as a special archival group
and needed a special study.
