The main questions in philosophy of engineering
Abstract
At the end of the XX – beginning of the XXI centuries a number of researchers both from China and several European and American countries explicitly proclaimed a program in philosophy of engineering. Engineering means creating new material objects, and it enjoys signifi cant differences from science and technology. Chinese philosopher Li Bocong mentioned, that the phrase “I create things, I use things, thus I exist” may be viewed as basis for philosophy of engineering. So, questions of whether and how human beings can produce things are the main questions in philosophy of engineering.
