J. Habermas’ Creative Line of Work and Theoretical Merits: 90th Anniversary of the Philosopher in the Mirror of the German Press

The article considers a number of publications in the German press dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the largest modern philosopher Jurgen Habermas. A selection of articles, which appeared on June 18, 2019 in the newspaper Die Zeit, reflects the attitude to the ideas of the German thinker of a cohort of famous scientists and politicians from different countries, both those who experienced the influence of Yu. Habermas, and those who, previously disagreeing with him, now realize the correctness of his reflections on history, society, democracy, solidarity, mutual understanding and the project of a United Europe. The authors of the considered publications are unanimous in their appreciation of the ideas of Habermas and their importance for the future not only of Europe but also of the whole world. They note the active nature of the reflections of the German philosopher, invariably addressed to the problems of modernity. The author of the article emphasizes the gratifying fact that the theoretical research of the philosopher attracts the attention of not only specialists, but also the General public, as well as politicians of various levels, as evidenced by the large-scale coverage of the anniversary of Y. Habermas in the European «life world».
