The article is devoted to an important phenomenon in the history of the Petro grad Philosophical Society, the journal “Mysl’”. Authors demonstrate the sig nificance of the journal for the life of this society. The article shows the history
of the creation of the journal, as well as the basic principles and forms of orga nization of its activities, in the specific conditions of Soviet Russia in the early
1920s. A brief analysis of a number of the most interesting articles published
in the journal is given. Their authors – famous Russian philosophers were
active members of the Philosophical Society: L.P. Karsavin, N.O. Lossky,
A.I. Vvedensky, E.L. Radlov, etc. For this purpose, the authors draw on materials from two reviews published in the Soviet periodicals as well as three re views from emigrant publications. The paper outlines the main political and
social reasons for the fact that the period of revival of the Philosophical Soci ety after the revolution of 1917 was short, and it managed to publish only three
issues of the journal “Mysl’”. According to the authors of the article, in its
brief period of post-revolutionary activity, the Philosophical Society success fully positioned itself as one of the centers of philosophical science in Soviet
Russia; “Mysl’” is perceived by historians as a unique scientific publication
that objectively reflected the state of philosophy of its time.
